Crispy Beef Lettuce Wraps
A quick and healthy lettuce wrap
Ingredients:
Instructions:
- 1 lb thinly sliced beef – cut into strips
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 2 TBL whole wheat flour
- 2 TBL canola oil
- 1 red bell pepper – cut into strips
- 1 green bell pepper – cut into strips
- 1 medium red onion – sliced
- 1 TBL soy sauce
- 1 tsp Hoisin sauce
- 1/2 tsp Siracha or hot sauce
- 1 head of red leaf lettuce
Take the thinly sliced beef and cut into strips. Add the ground ginger, salt and coat well in flour.
Heat a large saute pan or wok with oil on high heat. Fry the beef strips in batches and drain on paper towels.
After 2 minutes, add the cooked crispy beef strips and saute with the vegetables. Immediately add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and siracha sauce. Saute for about 3-4 minutes and serve on top of red leaf lettuce.
After all the beef strips are done and set aside, add the julienned bell peppers and onions and saute for about 2 minutes.
