Blueberry Green Tea Matcha Smoothie

Like many busy moms, eating a healthy breakfast is usually last on my list of things to do on a hectic weekday morning. Packing lunches, making sure each kid has brushed their teeth, and a million other things crosses my mind...not breakfast.

As mothers, thinking of our families well-being before ourselves comes with the territory. It is what makes moms (and women) unique and special beings. But the drawback is we often don't good enough care of ourselves in the process of taking care of our loved ones.

One of the things I am working very hard on is eating healthier. It is no secret to those who know me that I will never pass up a good meal. I LOVE to eat! I love to taste new things, and I love how food brings new and old friends together. However, I know that the years I have spent working as a restaurant manager and then now as Momma Cuisine, and all the food and recipes that I continually try is taking it's toll. So, I have got to make it a priority to live a healthier lifestyle for myself, in order to continue to take care of my family and do what I love to do.

Today, I made a Blueberry Green Tea Matcha Smoothie. As I am on the go during breakfast, this is a great way to get my vitamins in as well as  a little protein, so that hopefully, I'm not starving by lunchtime and craving a bucket of fried chicken!

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup green tea matcha mix – I used the Tazo brand
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1/3 cup of cubed ice
  • 1 TBL of granulated sugar
Instructions:

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
