You’re hoping for: quality family time and magical memories.
But make sure you’re also prepared for the: long lines and crowds at meal times.
Let me help your family focus on the magical part of your Walt Disney World® Resort vacation with a few of the hints and tricks that I share with my clients!
1) Extra Magic Hours: Take advantage of one of the great benefits of staying at a Disney Resort! A different Walt Disney World® Resort theme park (Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, or Animal Kingdom) opens early or stays open later just for Disney Resort guests each day! Did you add the Water Parks Fun & More option to your ticket? The Water Parks also offer Extra Magic Hours. Morning Extra Magic Hours are a particularly great time to visit some of the most popular rides and attractions with significantly shorter lines. In fact, mornings in general are the ideal time to visit any of the theme parks, when many visitors are sleeping in! Find out the Extra Magic Hours during your vacation here:

2) Dining: If you purchased one of the money-saving Disney Dining Plans, be sure to book your table-service reservations (e.g. character meals) BEFORE you go to avoid disappointment. Reservations open 180 days in advance and fill up fast! Book your table-service restaurants and research options here: Disney Dining Reservations. And remember: there’s a new cancellation policy for many dining experiences, so you’ll need to cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a penalty. Check your reservation! Avoid long lines at the park restaurants during lunch & dinner by heading to one of the Disney Resorts near that park to dine! For instance, from the Magic Kingdom, take a quick monorail ride to the Grand Floridian or Contemporary Resorts, which have table-service and quick-service options.
3) Packing: iPad. Phone. Laptop. Cameras. Bring a power strip to make sure all of your devices stay charged and ready to capture all those magical moments! Outlets in your room are limited, so this will make charging your devices much easier. Planning to hit a few water rides? Bring some gallon-size sealable plastic bags to protect your phone and cameras!
4) Helpful App: For just $4.99, the Disney World Magic Guide for iPhone supplies you with wait times for every attraction in each park, dining menus, interactive maps, and much more. It’s a great way to determine “Which ride should we go on next?”. Buy it here: Disney Magic Guide
So, get ready to do a little pre-planning, get going early, take nap or swim breaks during the day, and arrive back at the parks refreshed and ready for the evening festivities!
