Banana Walnut Bread

Banana Walnut Bread recipe by Momma Cuisine

Banana bread at the grocery store is anywhere from $3 and up. It's a treat that so many love.

At home, you can make this delicious Banana Bread recipe for cents compared to the store bought kinds. Plus, you have the advantage of buying the best ingredients and adding your own twist to the classic recipe.

I thought to add a squeeze of fresh orange juice to this recipe to liven up the dense bread and give it a nice, fresh flavor.

I may just start getting into this baking thing!

Ingredients:
  • 4-5 Ripe Bananas – smashed
  • 1.5 cups of Flour
  • 1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 1/3 cup of Unsalted Butter – melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 pinch of Kosher Salt
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh orange juice – squeezed
  • 1/2 cup of Walnuts – roughly chopped
Instructions:

Heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Put all the ingredients, except the chopped walnuts in a mixing bowl and gently mix. You can use a mixer or do it by hand.

Mix until all ingredients are incorporated (be careful not to over mix). Add the walnuts and mix again for about 20 seconds.

Take a buttered loaf pan and add the mixture.

Bake in the oven for about 1 hour.

Let cool before taking out of the pan and slice.
