Chickpeas or garbanzo beans have long been a source of great food. Over the last couple of years, with the mainstream popularity of hummus as a healthy and delicious food, these unassuming little beans have become all the rage. This healthy snack for Cumen and Paprika Roasted Chickpeas is great to keep around the house for you and the kids to grab. It's also great for parties to serve as bar snacks with beer and wine. Also, roasted chickpeas are so versatile acting as a canvas for whatever flavors you'd like to add to them. Ingredients:
  • 1 large can garbanzo beans/chickpeas, rinse under cold water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2.5 teaspoons ground cumen
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions:

Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Take the rinsed chickpeas and lay them on a paper towel to dry. In a mixing bowl, gently toss the chickpeas with the olive oil and spices.

Take a lined cookie sheet and spread the chickpeas on the sheet. Roast in the oven until the chickpeas turn golden brown, for about 30-40 minutes.

Let cool. Chickpeas should still be a little tender but has a nice bite to it.
