I am so excited to be hosting the 2015  Corks & Crayons event benefiting Purple Asparagus. Purple Asparagus is close to my heart because their mission to educate young ones about food and nutrition is a mission I share with them. In the past, Momma Cuisine has worked with Purple Asparagus raising money for their cause with Hyatt Regency Chicago and it is an honor to be part of this event, this time helping to host the event.

And because I am hosting this year’s Corks & Crayons, we are giving away two pairs of tickets! So please enter the giveaway, share this event throughout Chicago and come join us for a great cause!

Take a look at participating restaurants and chefs…

Purple Asparagus will be adding more chefs so be sure follow them on Facebook and Twitter or check back soon to see who else will be serving up delicious eats.

ENTER TO WIN TICKETS. Ends Monday, 8/17/2015. Event is on Sunday, 8/23/2015 at Greenhouse Loft.

ABOUT CORKS & CRAYONS

Corks & Crayons is Purple Asparagus’ signature, annual, fun-for-all-ages event. Taking place in the gorgeousGreenhouse Loft, this year’s event will feature tastings from some of Chicago’s top chefs, beer from Ale Syndicate, wine from Candid Wines, and cocktails from Templeton Rye.  During the event there will be many activities to keep the entire family entertained including a farmers market with produce from Door to Door Organics, tours of the LEED Certified Green Exchange, a photo booth, singing and dancing with Miss Jamie, balloon twisting with Miss Jamie’s Farmhand Scott, an art experience for the kids, a silent auction, raffle prize drawings, specialty cocktails, beer and wine, and more.  And, because Purple Asparagus cares about the environment too, the event is waste-free and everything is either recycled or composted.

Purple Asparagus, winner of the 2012 International Association of Culinary Professionals Culinary Youth Advocate award, helps thousands of school children throughout Chicagoland learn better eating habits through their flagship program, Delicious Nutritious Adventures.  Proceeds from the Corks & Crayons event directly support Purple Asparagus’ educational programming.
