2 Delicious Matcha Face Masks


Matcha has made it's way as a food fad in the United States for a few years now, and it is here to stay. Matcha green tea is a Japanese tradition and the purest powdered green tea you can find. Coming from the young leaves of Camellia senensis plant and turned into the rich green powder we all know at matcha green tea. 

Along with the delicious flavor of matcha that lends itself perfectly to bake in cookies, cakes, breads and other desserts, matcha has a powerhouse of health benefits. According to MatchaSource.com, 1 cup of matcha green tea is equal to 10 cups of brewed regular green tea. 

Antioxidants are good for us from the inside out and it matcha is known to help skin's firmness and elasticity and even helping with rosacea and for UV protection. Here are a couple of recipes for face masks using matcha green tea!

Honey Matcha Mask

1 teaspoon matcha powder

1 1/2 teaspoon raw honey

Mix into a paste until your desired consistency. Might need to add more honey. Let stay on face for 15 minutes then wash off with a warm cloth.


Coconut Matcha Mask

2 teaspoons matcha powder

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

Mix into a paste until your desired consistency. Might need to add more oil. Let stay on face for 15 minutes then wash off with a warm cloth.
