5 things you should know about adding CBD oil to your coffee

Who doesn’t enjoy a good cup of Joe in the morning? It’s great for giving you the energy needed to start the day right, no matter if you’re hitting the gym or heading to work.

Thanks to CBD oil though, your morning coffee can be even better for you.

Now, this is a pretty bold statement to make without any context: does it even work? And even if it does, why would you take it anyway?

Here are 5 things you should know about adding CBD oil to your coffee to help answer these questions.

1. CBD Oil Works With Coffee

Let’s start with answering the most important question you’ll be wondering. Taking CBD oil with coffee does indeed work.

It’s similar to using a regular CBD tincture. You just need to figure out the best dose for you.

Experts suggest that two 25mg doses a day should be considered the ‘standard’ amount, but it’s important to understand that everyone is different; what may work for someone else may not work the same for you.

Factors like height, weight, age, age, the strength of the CBD oil and more all impact how much CBD oil you need in your coffee to feel the effects.

Always start small and increase the doses gradually until you find the right amount for you.

2. Lots Of Health Benefits

Ok, so now you know that it works, why should you add CBD oil to your coffee?

CBD oil has many positive effects on the human body. Research has shown it has the ability to relieve stress and anxiety, reduce inflammation and more.

Some of these effects are also linked to cannabis but CBD oil is different. Regular cannabis contains a compound called THC which is responsible for creating a high. On the other hand, CBD doesn’t not contain any THC so these benefits can be enjoyed without getting high.

As noted by Healthcare Weekly, here are some other health benefits CBD oil can offer:

  • Improving quality of sleep
  • Combating cancer
  • Treating skin conditions like acne
  • Helping with mental illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease.

3. Why Use CBD Oil With Coffee

There are several reasons why people like to add CBD oil to coffee.

First, it can help to relieve any nerves related to drinking caffeinated beverages. Caffeine is a strong substance; too much can cause jitters and make you feel on edge - not ideal when all you’re looking for is a kickstart in the morning or feel more alert.

Next, mixing CBD oil into your coffee is a great way to get it into your routine. It can be annoying having to remember taking some drops from the vial every morning and once again in the evening. However, it’s much more likely that you’ll have a cup of coffee on your way out. Drop some CBD oil in and you’re good to go.

By mixing your new habit with your existing one, you’re more likely to stick to it.

Further, ingesting CBD rather than inhaling it can make the effects last for longer. Methods like vapes can make you feel the effects quicker but they are just as quick to fade. On the other hand, digesting CBD takes longer to get into the bloodstream and longer to leave the body, meaning it has more time to heal your body.

4. CBD Oil In Your Coffee Is Completely Legal

Now, if you have never done any research into CBD oil, it’s legality is often one of the most sought after questions.

Here’s the deal: the 2018 Farm Bill made the production of CBD oil from industrialized hemp completely legal at the federal level.

That said, it’s not legal to buy food or drinks infused with CBD just yet. But that doesn’t mean you can’t add CBD oil into your coffee. You just can’t buy a ready-made product.

Not even Marijuana has not achieved the same level of federal legality as CBD. As mentioned earlier, CBD has been approved by the FDA as an effective treatment for severe forms of epilepsy.

5. Knowing If It’s Working

This is the final thing you should know about adding CBD oil to your coffee.

The first step is finding the best seller. This isn’t always an easy task, especially with all sorts of companies claiming their product is the best.

Here are some pointers to help you out.

If you find cheap CBD oil, it probably isn't the best quality. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

You’re better off buying from a specialist company rather than the local corner store.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the products if you’re ever unsure about anything. Those that give you as much information about their CBD oil as they can is a good sign that they can be trusted. Consider asking questions you know the answer to as well just to check that they know as much as they claim to.

Once you have your CBD oil to add to your coffee, here’s how you’ll know that it’s working.

Choose a day that you aren’t working. For most people, this will be a Saturday or Sunday but pick one based on your schedule.

First start off small. Drop only half a pipette’s worth into your coffee. Drink it as you normally would and then just go about your day. You should feel a bit different than normal, but in a good way. If you didn’t feel anything, increase your dosage to around three-quarters of the pipette the next day. If nothing still, up the dose the full pipette.

Note that going too high on dosage won’t do you any favors. CBD oil isn’t going to give you the same kick as caffeine. It’s much more subtle but you’ll understand what it feels like.

Take a mental note about how you’re feeling and decide if it’s what you want. When you get it right, you’ll be glad you’ve made a positive change to your morning routine.
