{lifestyle} @Equinox Gym Is Taking It To The Farmer's Market

Called the “Top American Club” by Conde Nast, Traveler Magazine and “The Temple of Well-Being” by the New York Times, Equinox gym is more than just a gym. It’s a lifestyle.

As the summer brings on an abundance of outdoor activities, Equinox is taking exercising  to the Gourmet Farmer’s Market in Highwood, Illinois.

In conjunction with Highwood’s Evening Gourmet Farmers Market, Equinox is announcing the new “Workout Wednesdays” in the park! On July 25th and August 29th, from 5-5:30pm, Equinox will be providing free workout demos in Highwood’s wonderful Everts Park! In its fourth year, this one-of-a-kind Farmers Market is ready to accommodate those fanatics who want to get in a quick workout in the great outdoors, before shopping, dining and enjoying live music at the Farmers Market!

Everyone is encouraged to come out for these free workout demos, while taking in all the other action this market provides! Live music, unique vendors, and awesome foods give that extra “kick” for the intense, carefree workout demos Equinox is providing! Everts Park offers plenty of green space, room for 100 different vendors, and more importantly, a beautiful surrounding for great outdoor exercise.

“Highwood’s Evening Gourmet Farmers Market represents summer, health and community – and Equinox fits right in with that. Everts Park presents a great opportunity for Equinox to showcase our unique instructors and classes to members of our own community,” says Julie Valenti, Area Group Fitness Manager for Equinox.

Equinox will be demonstrating some of their signature workouts classes such as ViPR, Whipped! and Tabata. These classes maximize metabolic rate and increase caloric expenditure, as well as decrease body fat and increase athletic performance. They are the classes that deliver the most bang for your buck!   While ViPR enhances movement, skills and functional strength, Whipped! uses timed intervals with kettlebells, body bars and battle ropes, and Tabata brings on the ‘sweat,’ with its high intensity interval training!
