Chef Joho will host the first annual No Kid Hungry Dinner – Chicago at Everest on September 19, 2012. This spectacular seated dinner features Chef Joho alongside Chef Jacques Torres of Jacques Torres Chocolate in New York.  Together the chefs will prepare a multi-course meal with a cause: ending childhood hunger in America. This event is chaired by Ken Pelletier and Amanda Lao, who are committed to the cause of ensuring all children have the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in auctions that include one-of-a-kind culinary, travel and lifestyle items, including dinner for two at Eiffel Tower Restaurant, dinner for six at Everest, a reception at Paris Club, and a hotel room stay at Hôtel du Palais Biarritz.

Since 2005, No Kid Hungry dinners have raised nearly $5 million to support the No Kid Hungry campaign, ensuring that kids across the U.S. have access to the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, active lives. In March 2012, Share Our Strength, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the Illinois Commission to End Hunger, and Governor Pat Quinn joined forces to form the Illinois No Kid Hungry Campaign. The campaign works to increase enrollment among eligible children in Summer Meals and School Breakfast programs.

“From the first day we met I have always embraced my friend and colleague Jacques Torres,” says Chef Joho. “This is a collaboration between two French chefs working in two different American cities who are coming together for one special evening in Chicago. I hope this first annual dinner will have an enormous impact for Share Our Strength and help fuel the fight against childhood hunger.”

“As a chef, spending so much time cooking for others, food and nutrition are near and dear to my heart,” said Chef Jacques Torres. “I believe no child should live with the stress of hunger and support the No Kid Hungry Campaign so children across the country will have access to the nutritious meals they need.”

The cocktail reception starts at 6 p.m. with dinner seating at 7 p.m. Tickets are $500 per person with table hosting opportunities available starting at $5,000. Make reservations at 202-478-6528 or visit strength.org/nkh_chicago.
