Most of us like to live in a home that is clean and tidy. However, it can be difficult to keep our homes that way when we have busy lives to lead and lots of other things we need to get done.

That’s why I’ve put together a list of tips and tricks to help you keep your home tidy and clean no matter what challenges you may face…

Declutter

The less stuff you have, the less stuff you need to clean, maintain and find a place for. It really is that simple.

Invest in more storage

Of course, you can’t get rid of everything but what you can do is invest in more storage so you can tidy it away effectively. From built-in wardrobes to storage ottomans, there are so many home storage solutions that will enable you to quickly pick up and put away any clutter when tidying up. Invest now and make your life easier.

Have a schedule

Unless you have lots of free time, you probably won't be able to clean your house from top to bottom every day, but you can probably do a little bit every day. That’s why it’s a really good idea to sit down and schedule in all of your cleaning and tidying tasks for the week.

If you group tasks together, like vacuuming every room on a Monday or cleaning all the tiles on a Tuesday for example, it will take up less time overall, but as long as you’re doing something every day, it will be easier to keep on top of things, and a schedule will help you to keep track.

Clean and tidy as you go

If you want to ensure that you never spend too much time cleaning or tidying up, it’s best to do it as y go along. For example, if you are baking a cake, wash the wooden spoon as soon as you’re done beating the mixture, clean the bowl while the cakes are in the oven, put them away,  and wipe down the counter before you remove the cakes. That way mess does not get a chance to build up.

Invest in a robot vacuum cleaner

If you want the floors in your home to be clean, but you don’t have a lot of time, then investing in a robot vacuum cleaner is a really easy way to ensure the task gets done every day without you ever having to lift a finger.

Take off shoes

If you turn your home into a shoe-free zone, then you won’t need to spend so much time mopping, scrubbing, and removing dirt and debris from the floors. Leave a hamper of slippers by the door for people to change into.

Buy lots of baskets

Buy lots of big wicker baskets and place them in each room. Them if you don’t have time to properly tidy up, you can throw any junk into them to deal with later. This is great for when you have guests coming over at short notice!

Here’s to a home that’s (almost) always clean and tidy!
