Why You Should Cook Up A Storm Outside This Summer

There is one thing that is familiar throughout the spring and summer months, and that’s the smell of barbecues. When you go outside in the evening and you smell that familiar charcoal smell, it’s enough to draw a smile in an instant. That’s the signal, the one that tells you that the best weather is coming, the outdoor parties are on their way, and that it’s time to start with the cookouts again.

The sound and smell of meat cooking on the grill, of corn baking on the barbecue, of laughter in the garden because there’s a gathering at last – all of these invoke core memories. The custom decks you spend months planning and building FINALLY get their glory, too! Outdoor cooking it’s not just for parties and barbecues, though. It’s great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening snacks and s’mores  – honestly you can cook outside whenever you want, and it will always be the right time.

Whether you are a fan of outdoor cooking or not, here are all of the reasons you should consider investing in a good outdoor cooking space for the spring and summer. The sun is coming – and the temperatures are going up. Enjoy your time outside and use these tips to help you decide.

  • No more boiling kitchen. In the spring and summer months especially, the temperature outside goes up to make it very uncomfortable for cooking indoors. You could spend your time making some of the most delicious food, but when you’re sweating your butt off, it’s not particularly comfortable. You take that away when you cook outside. Outside, the heat will spread into the air around you and you’ll still get a wonderful breeze while you cook.

  • You’ll save some cash. We just talked about the fact that the kitchen heats up while you’re cooking, and one of the ways that many people combat this is with the use of fans or air conditioning. When you cook outside, you'll save money on your energy bills, because you won’t need to run the air conditioning because of the heat. You can then sit back and relax, and allow the fresh air to go over your face while you cook the most amazing food.

  • It’s so much quicker. When you cook outside on the grill, you’ll be able to get your food cooked much faster than if you’re doing it inside. Of course, the only exception here is if you cook on a close barbecue when you want your meat and your veggies to be slow roasted. Cooking on the grill during the week is also a fantastic way to end the day, it can give you that summer sunshine vibe even if you’re not quite there yet.

  • No more splattered grease. Cooking on the hob can often lead your oven top and your backsplash messy and dirty. When you cook outside you don’t have to worry about the grease flying everywhere, because you’re outside and there’s no kitchen to clean up afterwards. Don’t forget though, you will have to clean down the grill – especially if you want to use it again next time.
