Freeze Ginger Bone Broth For Delicious Weeknight Soups and Meals

Freeze Ginger Bone Broth For Delicious Weeknight Soups and Meals with Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer

Bone broth is a trending at the moment but in my family bone broth has been the base for the best soups for generations. My mom makes such good noodle soup made with bone broth she simmers the entire day, many times two.

Since the magic of bone broth is in simmering it for hours to release the minerals into the broth, it is tedious to make and made mainly in large batches. With such a big batch of broth, it is wise to freeze the broth for later use. If you do not have the time for preparing it, you can also find the best bone broth to buy from the market.

I went to the local dollar store to buy ice cube trays to freeze broth, then used a Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer to freeze 2 trays in each pouch, about 4 cups, perfect for soups, stews, ramen and more.

Now, you know for sure that you can have a delicious homemade meal during those crazy, busy weeknights without feeling guilty about cooking frozen food.

Ginger Bone Broth
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds beef bones
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 inches fresh ginger, sliced
  • Water
Instructions:
Take all the ingredients and place in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.

Bring to a boil, then bring the heat down to the lowest setting. Stir occasionally and simmer for at least 8-10 hours.

For best results, simmer for at least 10 hours. DO NOT leave the house. This is perfect to do in a slow cooker if you have to leave for work or be out of the house.

Let cool and strain. Use the broth however you want. Season when cooking.
