PORK.BELLY. What else do I need to say?? In the US pork belly has become more than just fried strips of bacon, but a delicacy with worldly and ethnic flavors. There are so many versatile recipes you can make with pork.

One of my personal faves is Inihaw na Liempo which translates to Grilled Pork Belly in Tagalog, the Philippines native language. Simply marinated in Knorr Liquid Seasoning, spicy infused vinegar, and other seasonings, this recipe is so delicious! It’s a party favorite and something you will make over and over again.

Grilled Pork Belly - Inihaw na Liempo

Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds, pork belly for grilling
  • 1 cup sinamak vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked pepper
Instructions:

Sinamak vinegar is white or coconut vinegar infused with Thai chilis, fresh ginger, loads of garlic and whole peppercorns. You can easily make this yourself and purchase it at the ethnic market.

If you don't have access to sinamak vinegar, simply include these ingredients to this recipe.

  • 4-5 Thai chilies
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger sliced
  • 2 teaspoons whole peppercorns
  • 5 cloves garlic, smashed or rough chopped

Take all the ingredients and whisk together in a large mixing bowl. Smash some of the chilis for extra flavor. Add the pork belly and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Grill each side of for about 5 minutes and serve with a side of sinamak vinegar with Knorr Liquid Seasoning.
