Okay, so, you know when you're browsing through PInterest for hours and find recipes that you think you can remake at home? This is one of them! I was so intrigued that I just had to give it a whirl and see if this really actually doable for home cooks...and it is!

You've gotta try this for your next backyard barbecue.

A few tips:

After you spread your whipped cream, but this in the freezer or your whipped cream will melt into a puddle!

Best to serve right after you decorate, freeze for about 20 minutes, then serve.

Make the toppings all your own!

Surprise Watermelon Cake

Ingredients:
  • 1 small seedless watermelon
  • 2 cups heavy whipped cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Optional: 1 cap white/clear vanilla extract
  • An array of berries
  • Sliced almonds
Instructions:

Peel your watermelon. Make the edges as round as you can and make both up and bottom sides as flat and straight as you can.

Place your watermelon "cake" on a spinner or cake stand.

Slowly take your whipped cream and spread around your cake. No need to be precise or super neat. Have fun.

Top with your favorite toppings.

Freeze for 15-20 minutes and serve immediately.
