Tomato Basil Spaghettini with Goat Cheese

This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own.

For some reason, ever since I had my third baby, I get heartburn when I never used to! Eating rich foods like pasta sometimes triggers it and it's so frustrating!

If you experience daily heartburn, Omeprazole Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODT) are the newest frequent heartburn medication available as an easy-to-take orally disintegrating tablet, with MELTech formula allowing the tablet to dissolve on your tongue easily. For someone on the go, this is so convenient. Comprable to Prilosec, Omeprazole ODT is cheaper than other National brands which means you spend less.

You only have to take it once a day for 14 days but shouldn't take it more than 14 days. It's also strawberry flavored, you know, for better flavor!

Below is my recipe for Tomato Basil Spaghettini, a delicious pasta recipe that you might be hesitant to enjoy because of heartburn. But now, with Omeprazole ODT you can!

Tomato Basil Spaghettini
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs
  • 1, 15 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ pound spaghettini, cook according to instructions
  • 2 tablespoons shredded fresh basil
  • 4 ounces goat cheese
Instructions:
Cook the spaghettini noodles according to box instructions and set aside.

Take a large saute pan and heat to medium heat with olive oil. Add the garlic and saute for about 1 minute, mixing with a wooden spoon making sure it doesn’t burn. If it starts to burn, take pan off the heat immediately and let cool down.

Add the red pepper flakes and Italian herbs and add the crushed tomatoes. Let simmer and come together for about 20-30 minutes. Stir occasionally making sure the garlic doesn’t stick to the bottom.

Add the salt, basil and butter and stir. Taste for seasoning.

Add the cooked spaghettini noodles and toss together.

Top with goat cheese and more basil.

Serve hot.
