Indoor winter season for popular Wicker Park Farmers Market returns for second year with 21 vendors of fresh produce and gourmet food

The market continues being plastic-free, and opens with a carol performance by Chicago Children’s Choir’s new Bucktown Neighborhood Choir

CHICAGO (November 21, 2019)—Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce presents the second indoor winter season of its popular Wicker Park Farmers Market, open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on each month’s first Saturday, from December 7, 2019 through April 4, 2020 at The Robey Hall (2018 W. North Ave). The market will host 21 local vendors with handmade and homegrown favorites, plus free live music, and on-site composting and drop-offs with Healthy Soil Compost. The market opening day will feature a special free public performance of holiday carols by Chicago Children’s Choir’s new Bucktown Neighborhood Choir on Saturday, December 7 from 2 - 3 p.m., with the caroling route beginning at The Robey Hall.

The market dates are December 7, January 4, February 1, March 7, and April 4. During the market hours, The Robey Hall will have a bar open for service with coffee, mimosas, Bloody Marys, and other refreshments. The Wicker Park Farmers Market indoor winter season will again be plastic-free, a continuation of the 2019 outdoor summer season. Customers are encouraged to bring their own totes and containers, and the market will provide totes available for purchase and smaller totes for free

Chicago Children’s Choir’s new Bucktown Neighborhood Choir, launched in September 2019, will be giving its second public performance on the winter indoor market opening day, following its inaugural concert in the neighborhood on December 4. The performance, consisting of classic holiday carols in the themes of winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah, will make three stops in the Wicker Park neighborhood: 2:00 p.m. at Robey Hall, 2018 W North Ave, 2:20 p.m. at TOMS, 1611 N Damen Ave, and 2:40 p.m. at Goddess and the Grocer, 1649 N Damen Ave. This performance is also part of Wicker Park Bucktown’s Window Wonderland festivities, a holiday window extravaganza from Nov 30 to Dec 30, 2019.

The Wicker Park Farmers Market provides a space for local and regional farmers, food producers and processors to sell handmade and homegrown varieties of fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses, flowers and more. Participating vendors include fan favorite Avrom Farm, Beacon Doughnuts, Cheeze and Thank you, Fehr Bros., Frogtown Juice Co., Jacobson Family Farm, John Bailey Honey, La Boulangerie, LFK Spices, Masa Madre, Nutmeg's Spreads, Recette, Sfera Sicilian Street Food, Tamales Express, Zefiro, Petals, River Valley Ranch, Bot Bakery, Letizia's Natural Bakery, Pig & Fire, and Modern Provisions.
