How To Be A Healthier You Like Lisa Faulkner

Unless you’ve been living inside a cave, you’d know Lisa Faulkner. She has starred in numerous films like This Morning, What’s Cooking and Death In Paradise. She has even became a celebrity chef and was able to publish her own cookery book. This woman has achieved so much in life. But even with her busy schedule, Lisa Faulkner has been able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Even if she’s already in her 40’s, she still has a very great body and continues to do the things she love such as cooking and acting. She’s a working mom but still doesn’t take her health for granted. And regardless of how old or young you are, you can become a healthier you like Lisa Faulkner. Here’s how:

1. Eat breakfast:

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day – and for very good reasons, too. Eating breakfast can jump-start your metabolism, keep all of your cravings in check and deliver energy to keep you through the day. And while doughnuts can be a very good option for your breakfast, it won’t pave the way towards healthy living. To ensure that you’re getting the most nutrients first thing the morning, opt to prepare meals rich in fiber and protein.

2. Eat whole foods:

With the number of fast food joints opening almost every day, you might be tempted to grab this type of food and think that it’s a healthy option since they make you full. That kind of mindset is wrong. Junk foods might make you feel full but this doesn’t have the nutrients you need. You should always eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. You can always mix these ingredients in your salads and even your meals.

3. Keep your portions in check:

Some people believe that for them to live healthily, they have to give up their favorite desserts or meals. If you’re planning to have a healthy lifestyle long-term this isn’t the best way to go. When you deprive yourself of food that you love, you can end up binge eating. And when you do, you’ll be consuming twice as much calories. The better solution? Eat whatever you want but keep your portions in check. Eat everything moderately, especially when it comes to carbohydrates.

4. Stay hydrated:

There are instances when you think you’re hungry when you’re actually just thirsty. Instead of grabbing another snack from the vending machine, carry your water tumbler wherever you are. This is an excellent way of making yourself “feel full” which can lead to lesser food consumption. You also need water to keep your body feeling refreshed and functioning throughout the day. When you’re hydrated, you can focus better, think clearly and be energized.

5. Do something you love:

For you to live healthily, you should work out regularly. And as the name suggests, it means you’ll be “working”. Working out can be fun at the start but after a few months, this might seem like a taxing task. For you to be fueled up whenever you’re working out, look for activities which you love doing. If you love biking with friends, make this as a weekend routine. If you’re athletic, play your favorite sports during your spare time. Since you’ll be doing the things you love, these will not feel like workouts; you’ll be having fun while doing all of these!

6. Get more sleep:

When you have a family and a career, sleeping for at least eight hours can become a challenge. You might have so many things to do and sleep isn’t one of your priorities at all. But sleep deprivation can put your health at risk. When you’re not getting enough sleep, your mood will change abruptly, your immune system weakens, you’re at high risk for diabetes and you’ll also gain weight. This is why you should find time to sleep at least eight hours every night.

Start Small

You might think that you need to become a celebrity in order to achieve Lisa Faulkner’s health goals, but you’re wrong. Even if you’re an employee, a student or a mom just like Lisa Faulkner, you can still become a healthier you. There are many things you can do to become healthier, and some doesn’t even require you to spend anything at all. Follow the tips from this article, slowly inject this into your daily routine and for sure, you’ll be able to become healthy, just like Lisa Faulkner!
