Low-Maintenance Garden Hacks

The garden is a part of the home that should be enjoyed. If you aren’t really the green-fingered type, however, it can be hard to find much enjoyment in your outdoor space because you spend far too much time thinking about how you are going to keep it in control.

If that sounds all too familiar, you will love these low-maintenance garden hacks that will enable you to tend your garden in far less time, so you can actually sit back and enjoy the space.

Replace the lawn with an artificial solution

If you hate mowing the lawn, but you love having a manicured garden space, then replacing your lawn with artificial turf is a great way to keep things low-maintenance. These days, you can get some pretty good fake grass, which although it might not look quite as good as natural landscaping, comes pretty close, and it will save you a bunch of time too. What’s not to love?

Let there be low-maintenance plants

No garden is complete without some pretty pants and flowers to give you something nice to look at and to ensure your yard snells divine too, but if you don’t love gardening, you should forget about them, right? Wrong, simply choose below-maintenance plants and flowers like cornflowers, lavender and mullein which you can basically plant and leave to their own devices, save for cutting back once a year in spring.

Install an automatic water sprinkler

If you do decide to have a natural lawn, then installing an automatic water sprinkler that you can set to go off at regular intervals, will give you one less thing to worry about and ensure that your lawn is as lush as a lean can possibly be.

Put some paving down

If you want a low-maintenance garden, then pacing over some of it, at least, with patio stones is a good idea as it will not only give you a foundation for your garden furniture, but it is also very easy to look after, needing only to be jetwashed occasionally to get rid of any build-up of dirt. You can make it prettier by placing a few flower pots and plants around the patio area and it will look great.

Turn it into wildflower meadows

Wildflower meadows are beautiful seas of every color imaginable, and the beauty of them is that they require no maintenance at all., You simply throw a few seed bombs into the dirt and wait for them to grow, and grow they will with no help from you!

Hire a gardener

Of course, if you can afford it, hiring a gardener to come in and do all of the hard work for you is the very definition of low-maintenance for YOU at least, and it will ensure your garden is a veritable Eden too - what’s not to love?

So there you have it; you really do not need to spend a lot of time, or put in a huge amount of effort to have a garden you love!
