Everything you want to know about the best looking coffee maker on the market
If you like good coffee but you also like convenience then you will want to invest in a home coffee machine for yourself.
There are so many different options out there when it comes to home coffee machines - so how do you know where to start?
Well, if you're invested in having a coffee machine that is as good looking as the rest of your kitchen then you are going to want to look into Smeg Coffee Makers.
Who is Smeg?
Smeg is an Italian company that launched in 1948. Smeg stands for Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla.
Smeg is responsible for many of the appliances that we are used to seeing around our kitchens. Smeg was one of the first companies to mass manufacture ovens at a price that normal people could afford.
A designer at Smeg also came up with the original concept for the washing machine. This was released to the market by Smeg in the mid-1950s. In the 1970s they released the first dishwasher that could wash 14 place settings.
These days Smeg are known for their vintage fridges and stand mixers - both of which are featured on the Great British Bake Off.
In recent years, Smeg has moved into the world of home coffee makers. They have brought their trademark vintage simplicity and sophistication to the market.
Smeg Coffee Makers
Smeg offers three main categories of coffee makers - espresso machines, bean to cup machines, and Lavazza pod machines. All of which are available in multiple colors.
They also have a range of coffee grinders and milk frothers.
Smeg Espresso Machines
The Espresso range from Smeg is one of its most advanced ranges but somehow it still manages to visually pay tribute to the original Italian coffee machines.
This range comes in the 7 classic Smeg colors, so you will be able to match the machine to the rest of your Smeg accessories.
The White Smeg Drip Coffee Maker is the real highlight of this range.
Smeg Bean to Cup Machines
This range is going to be perfect for those of you that love the taste of fresh coffee but who don't like the hassle of having to grind and steep your own beans.
The Bean to Coffee range comes in three colors and with a built-in coffee grinder. The grinder is fully adjustable so you can make your coffee exactly the way you want it to be.
Smeg Lavazza Pods Machines
This range is a collaboration between the Italian coffee roasting company Lavazza. This is a pod coffee maker that works with the range from Lavazza and comes in three colors.
While these pod machines work really well and will give you a great cup of coffee. We think that they are very expensive for a machine that only works with one brand - especially when the brand does not have a huge range of blends.
We also don't like that the coffee pods aren't recyclable.
The Pros and Cons of Smeg Coffee Makers
Now that we have learned more about the Smeg Coffee Maker range, it's time to take a look at whether the machines are worth your hard earned money.
Pros
All machines come with at least a 5-year warranty
The range includes 3 different types of coffee makers
The range comes in multiple, beautiful designs and colors
The products are easy to clean and they come with cleaning tools
The products are high quality
The products are beautifully designed and sit outside trends
Cons
There is only one main con when it comes to Smeg Coffee Makers and that is the price. There are definitely coffee machines out there that are just as good as the Smeg range and can be bought for a fraction of the price.
It is also worth noting that you can only use Lavazza pods with your Smeg coffee pod machine.
Summary
If you are looking for a beautiful and timeless coffee machine that will last you for at least a decade then you will be very interested in the range from Smeg. This range works well and looks good while making your coffee.
However, the range is very expensive. This is the case for all of Smeg's products. However, if you are prepared to spend more on brand-name products then you will be able to get your hands on some very good coffee machines.
