The coffee industry is dynamic as baristas and coffee roasters innovate new ways to offer exceptional services to their clients. A report from the British Coffee Association indicates that British citizens take 95 million cups of coffee daily. Many people from all over the world are obsessed with coffee. New coffee brewing methods, gadgets, and recipes emerge each year. Here are the six trendiest coffee drinks in 2020.


Buttered Coffee

Most coffee lovers take coffee in different forms. Buttered coffee has rapidly gained popularity in the recent past. Some people call it "Bulletproof coffee." It is made by adding one tablespoon of butter to black coffee. Add another tablespoon of Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oil, preferably coconut oil. The MCT oil and butter offer an extended energy boost that increases your mental activity. Some consumers claim that Buttered Coffee improves complexion and reduces appetite.


Iced Coffee

Iced Coffee made a comeback this year.it was popular among the youth in the past, and they often added sugar in it. Now, unsweetened Iced Coffee drinks are more popular. The cold brew method provides baristas with a wide variety of serving options.


Coffee-Cola Drinks

Coffee-Cola is one of the newest coffee traditions in the world. Coffee roasters have been experimenting with different coffee and cola combinations for a while. Pepsi launched the Pepsi Café in April. It is a variety of canned coffee-infused cola drinks. The drink will have double the caffeine content that Pepsi soda contains. Besides, it will be available in vanilla and original flavors. Coca-Cola, a major competitor for Pepsi, is expected to release Coke Plus Coffee in the United States soon.


Cascara

Cascara refers to dried skins of coffee berries, also called peels. The drink is rapidly catching the attention of many food lovers globally. Many people discarded it when coffee roasters started experimenting with dried husks. Cascara is rich in fiber, antioxidants, iron, and protein. It provides a sweet flavor in coffee and tea. Besides, the peels have low caffeine content. Some communities brew cascara with spices, fruits, and roots.


Snapchilled Coffee

Snapchilled Coffee is a new variety of chilled coffee. It is made by brewing hot coffee and rapidly cooling it to extract specific aroma and extra flavors that are hard to obtain using cold water. The drink takes less time to prepare compared to cold brew. Unlike Iced Coffee, Snapchilled Coffee doesn't require ice cubes. Several companies have started selling Snapchilled Coffee in bottles.


Flat White

Flat White is an espresso-based coffee drink that is brewed with foam and steamed milk. You might confuse it with cappuccino or latte. But, the drink originated from New Zealand and Australia. A common characteristic of the Flat White from different cafes is a thin layer of foam and two shots of espresso. Baristas serve it in small cups. The demand for Flat White in Canada and the U.S. has increased since last year.

The global coffee consumption rate has steadily grown by 2.1 percent each year, since 2009. The number of coffee lovers has soared in the past decade. Surprisingly, some countries with the highest consumption rates don't grow coffee. Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and the United Kingdom are among the top coffee consumers. Buttered Coffee, Iced Coffee, Coffee-Cola Drinks, Cascara, Snapchilled Coffee, and Flat White are the trendiest coffee drinks this year.
