Why Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical Getting So Popular?

There are only some shows that can be counted as total perfection. I believe Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of such shows. While the general age group for the musical is the young children and teens. I was stunned to see more adults than kids at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans Louisiana.

The production will run at Detroit Opera House Michigan starting next week on 18th February. Till then it stays in New Orleans Louisiana. The musical is an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children's novel of the same name. With a book by David Greig, Music and Lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the musical is complete amazement. The novel has also has a fantasy movie adaptation starring Johnny Depp by renowned Director Tim Burton.

The Story That Moves the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the story of a young boy namely Charlie Bucket. Charlie belongs to a poor family so when he coincidently gets the last of the 5 tickets in the Willie Wonka Chocolates his life completely changes and for the better. Willie Wonka is the sole owner of the biggest chocolate factory in town he re-opens the factory after years and announces a contest, the winner gets a grand prize.

What happens in the factory when all five winners arrive is the whole plot. The sequence of events that take place are utterly hilarious and have been staged with experienced precessions. The people interested to see this story take place on stage are welcome to buy Charlie and The Chocolate Factory tickets. They are available at Tickets4Musical, hurry up and decide before the production moves places again!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Actors on the Roll!

Of course, the actors who take the role as the characters of the story are the most significant part of any production. From that viewpoint, the actors behind Charlie and the Chocolate Factory deserve the highest praises. They can make you laugh, tear up or feel any other emotion at the right time at the right moment.
I even heard someone saying the musical’s Willie Wonka is just as great as Johnny Depp’s. The actor in question is Cody Garcia. Though I can’t say for sure if he was as good as Depp, because who has ever been anywhere near Depp. But to a point, I can agree his Willie Wonka was nearly as good. Garcia has a fabulous vocal range and can bring that rib-tickling effect just right. The audience was laughing heartily every time he was on stage.

Though all the actors are great there is one who I would like to mention here and that’s Ryan Umbarila. Being so young and yet touring around the U.S and giving fabulous performances one after another is truly remarkable. Umbarila has previously taken up the role of Young Joshua in ‘Evil Lives Here’.

The Oompa Loompas; Too Little Yet Too Big A Highlight of the Show!

Let’s not forget Willie Wonka’s little helpers. Oompa Loompas are loyal tiny creatures from an island where an upset Wonka reside after his workers betrayal. The factory was shut down and Oompa Loompas were the ones who helped him at that time.

Basil Twist is deserving of every single praise that he can get as a puppet designer. Also, the team of puppeteers who magnificently controlled these excellently carved puppets. I could hear laughter from everywhere when Oompa Loompas appeared on stage singing "The Oompa Loompa Song". The puppets truly came alive and what a dance no one could tell they were being controlled. It’s almost made me want to venture into music, seeing how well everything worked together during the show. Luckily, there is a drum machine for beginners out there, so I can experiment without having to invest hours of time that I don’t really have!

Conclusion:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a masterpiece that suits every day and age. A great production with fabulous cast and creatives to protect its reputation. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be playing at the Detroit Opera House Michigan from 18th Feb to 1st March.
