Guide to Making Salmon in an Oven

Salmon is a fish that is healthy for the body. It contains good fats and omega 3 fatty acids to help support the brain. Many different methods can be used to cook salmon. Grilling salmon is one of the best ways to get the flavor out of the fish and many say it is exceptionally delicious. 

Not everyone has an outdoor grill or the best flat top grill available either. Others live in climates where it is too cold to grill all year. A person does not have to worry if they do not have a grill. They can grill the salmon in the oven and get that same great flavor. 

Salmon is a lean protein and low in fat and calories. It can be a good addition to a balanced diet.

Oven cooked Salmon
To cook a salmon in the oven and get a great flavor the following recipe can be used.

Ingredients for Oven cooked Salmon

The following ingredients are needed for oven grilled salmon.

  •  8 ounce of salmon with the skin still on it
  •  1 tbsp. olive oil
  •  1 tsp salt
  •  1 tsp ground pepper
  •  ½ tsp sugar
  •  2 tbsp soy sauce

To make this recipe and grill the salmon:
Put a tablespoon of oil on the side of the salmon without the skin. Put it evenly over the fish. Once the oil is on the fish add the salt, pepper, and sugar. Add soy sauce. Heat a cast-iron grill pan over low heat. Once the pan has heated up put the skinless side of the salmon on this grill pan and cook for 2 minutes.

Remove the pan from the stove. Flip the salmon over and put the skin side on the grill pan. Heat an oven to 375 degrees. Put the pan inside the oven. Allow the salmon to cook for 6 minutes. Allow the pan to sit in the oven with the heat off for 2 minutes. Take the pan out of the oven. This will allow the flavor to get into the salmon.

Adjust the seasoning if needed. Put the salmon back in the oven at 200 degrees. Allow the fish to cook for an additional 2 minutes. Turn off the heat to the oven. Allow the salmon to sit in the oven for 2 minutes. Add a tablespoon of olive oil on the skinless side of the salmon. Cook it an additional 2 minutes at 200 degrees. Allow it to stand for a minute before taking it out of the oven.

Suggested Servings
The salmon can be served with a mixture of Asian vegetables or steamed rice. Chopped cherry tomatoes also go well with this dish. The flavors mix well with garlic and roasted spinach.

Simplest Oven Grilled Salmon
There is another method that will work for grilling salmon in the oven and it is very simple. The recipe uses salmon, salt, and pepper with a touch of olive oil. A person can make different sauces to top the salmon and they can cook it to their liking. To make a grilled salmon dinner inside the following is needed.

  •  Four fillets of salmon
  •  2 tbsp. olive oil
  •  Salt
  •  Pepper

The oven should be preheated to a temperate of 450 degrees. This will allow the fish to cook quickly, evenly, and have that grill flavor. The salmon should be placed on a piece of parchment paper and then put onto a baking sheet. The oil should be drizzled on the salmon and seasoned with some salt and pepper. The salmon should be baked 12 to 15 minutes or until it is fully cooked. This will give the salmon great flavor.

There are some other ways to grill the salmon in the oven. The salmon can be wrapped in tin foil and grilled in the tin foil packet. Sliced lemon can be put into the foil package to flavor the salmon. This is a popular way to cook it on the grill and get the grilled flavor cooking in the oven.

These are some ways to get the great grilled taste of salmon without cooking it on the grill. This will allow a person to enjoy the grilled flavor without having to go out and purchase a grill.
