Infrastructure changes are the best way to improve the energy efficiency of the home, but it’s not the only way. If you want a quick solution to the energy crisis this winter, one easy way is to improve the insulation of your home with draft excluders and window shades for homeowners.

Better blinds help to trap more heat in the room, reducing your energy costs. It’s an effective, low-cost solution to the energy crisis because blinds don’t require any significant investment. All you have to do is order thicker blinds online and benefit from lower bills almost right away.   

Double Glazing 

If you are in a position to invest a little bit more in your home’s energy efficiency, then start with double or triple glazing in your windows. According to efficiency surveys, windows account for around 10% of energy wastage in the home. Double and triple glazing can reduce it significantly.  

Energy efficiency is not the only gain you get from installing double glazing; it is also excellent for noise reduction and security. If you don’t have double or triple glazing in your home, this is one of the first things you should invest in. Double glazing lasts for many years once installed.

Thermostats are used to moderate the temperature of your home and certain rooms in the home. Of course, there’s no point in raising the temperature of your rooms if there is no one occupying them. Instead, use a smart thermostat to adjust the temperature automatically.
